A Barani is an aerial frontflip with 180 degree turn or half twist.
In tricking, this maneuver is occasionally used for ending a tricking line cleanly. The 180 degree turn is carried out usually halfway through the frontflip, though earlier attempts are possible but more dangerous and are unrecommended.
The Barani is historically named after an Italian circus acrobat and tumbler named Alfonso Baroni, performed the front salto with half twist around 1881.
- Dan Mackey landed a 15'9 Barani flip for longest Barani in the Guinness World Record. Performed in Wilbraham, MA at the All American Gymnastics Academy on October 22, 2011.
